Chokes

Low-Rdc chokes.

Although a power supply ripple filtering device, the choice of power chokes contributes significantly to the acoustic reproduction of your system. At Muse Coils, every device is carefully listened to, and chokes make no exception.

Our power supply chokes are made from two equally parametered coils, permitting normal, parallel, and common mode connections. In parallel mode, inductance and Rdc decrease 4 times, while maximum permissible current and voltage swing decrease by a factor of 2.

The internals of MinotauR series chokes consist of carefully wound, tight windings, additionally inspected and packed by hand. The core is HiB with a proprietary modification. Between each layer there is a dampening paper. The resulting coils are deeply impregnated within an inhouse high-temperature wax that delivers a fusion of energy, smoothness, and soundstage immersion to the midrange. The mounting elements being all a part of the sound reproduction, are made from carefully selected Brazilian hardwood, linked together with brass-alloy rods. Output terminals, being a sensitive spot, are not left neglected either, being modified with a mixture of annealed silver and African hardwood. The core is hard-rock glued to ensure silent operation, especially for choke-input applications.

Each choke can be custom air gapped and tweaked for the desired inductance, DC current and voltage swing parameters.
